Floral Aftercare

To encourage the most from your freshly cut roses, follow these clever tricks from top florists.

1. Positioning

SELECT A COOL, SHADED SITE WHERE THE ROSES WILL NOT BE IN COMPETITION WITH OTHER PLANTS.

 2. Feeding

FOR MAXIMUM LONGEVITY USE THE LIQUID ROSE FOOD SUPPLIED; SIMPLY DILUTE FOOD DIRECTLY IN WATER BEFORE PLACING YOUR ROSES IN THE VESSEL. USE FRESH WATER AT THE TEMPERATURE IT RUNS FROM THE TAP, NOT HEATED. ROSES NEED A GENEROUS SUPPLY OF NUTRIENTS. ROSEUR'S ORGANIC-BASED ROSE FOOD IS SPECIALLY FORMULATED TO REHYDRATE AND CONDITION FLOWERS.

3. Cutting Leaves + Stems

TRIM STEMS USING SHARP SCISSORS ON A 45º ANGLE ABOUT HALF AN INCH UP THE STEM. REMOVE MOST OF THE LEAVES, WHICH WILL MAKE THE ROSES LAST LONGER - BUT KEEP SOME INTACT ON THE SHORTEST STEMS AS THEY WILL HELP CREATE A BASE IN THE VESSEL.

 4. Maintenance

DAILY TRIMMING ALLOWS ROSES TO ABSORB MORE WATER AND NUTRIENTS BECAUSE, ONCE CUT, THE STEMS CAN BECOME BLOCKED WITH AIR AND NATURAL COMPOUNDS. CHANGING WATER DAILY IS ESSENTIAL FOR STRONGER ROSES WITH HEALTHIER BLOOMS.
